Very friendly hotel(march 2008)

El Ducado is a small relativ new hotel in one oft the best parts of Lima= Miraflores- only 5 Min walking from Larcomar Shopping Center and the Pacific Coast. The location is safe and there is always a wind and fresh air from the Pacific Ocean.
Very friendly and helpful staff!
The rooms are small but very clean and the beds are very comfortable, for me very important- the rooms have small fridges where you an put some cold drinks. Due to the fact , that there are two buildings the rooms are different located- I got a very quiet nice small room.
in generally the rooms are quieter than in other hotels but dont forget: in Latin America you will never get a hotel where you dont have any noise! Some Latin People and some other guests from Latin America dont have the mentality and respect.
Comparing to other hotels in Lima the price-relation is excellent
El Ducado is a very good choice and answers always to emails and El Ducado works together with many international well known reservation systems and never compare it to hotels in the USA: you have to compare it to hotels in Lima:
Then you will be totally satisfied!
The breakfast is continental but it is a very nice location in the patio where you take seat.

The best season for Lima: Dec until April
When i was there, some rooms where installed with air condition for heating in July August .
But i generally did not need an air condition..because during the night the temparature drops to 20 degrees Celcius.

Hotel El Ducado - Great Location(feb 2008)

Perhaps The El Ducado Hotel from the outside doesn't look so appealing. But, the staff as well as the inside of this Hotel has a much better feel.
The staff was very helpful and accomodating and the rooms were clean and attractive and the location was wonderful ~ walking distance to the Cliffs, Restuarants and the Beautiful outside Mall. The Miraflores area felt safe and it was one of my favorite places in Peru.

Good hotel, well located.(feb 2008)

El Ducado is a small hotel. The staff was very helpful and nice and our room was cleaned. Whatever you need, the staff was always ready and available to help you. We stayed at a suite, had a bathroom, kitchen (with plates, pans, microwave, fridge and a stove), and A/C in the bedroom. The rate was below $100 per night.
Although breakfast was complimentary with great fresh coffee, papaya or orange juice and egg bread with margarine and strawberry jam, you can order fried or scrambled eggs for just $2.00 extra. Location is great, 3-4 blocks from Larcomar, easy to catch a taxi and just few blocks away to view the perfect sunset during summer.
You have free internet access in your room (although the connection would drop sometimes) or you can use their PC located in the lobby. The only inconvenience I found is that the hotel doesn't have an elevator, probably because it is a 4-story building, there is no parking space for exclusive hotel guest visitors use and there is no food other than their delicious jam and cheese sandwiches, and the only problem I found was that other guests didn't keep it low in the middle of the night, but the hotel knew how to handle the situation and kept everything under control.
If you are expecting a 5-star hotel, this is not it, but, for the service, price and location, I think this is a good place to stay. I would recommend this hotel, and would stay here again.

A little bit of paradise & a hop, skip and a jump from the ocean

After having read great reviews about hotel El Ducado, I decided to check it out.
I had stayed at another hotel previous the Ducado and what stood out the most, upon first arriving, was how modern and clean my room was.
It reminded me of a modern hotel from North America, especially the bathrooms, something I've only come across twice while staying in Peru.

My room was replete with everything I could ask for! The windows were a dream! My room was on the 4th floor and I could just make out a bit of the ocean from my large window.
The rooms have a little mini fridge which is so helpful to combat Lima's heat - I could sip agua sin gas anytime I wanted, which was delightful.

The lobby and outdoor patio are perhaps the most beautiful I've encountered yet. At times, I thought of just lingering out back in the garden which was overlooked by an exquisite, absolutely immaculate balconade. There is a tiny fountain surrounded by quaint benchs - you often see little birds fluttering around the water. Many different types of flowers and plants adorn the back patio and the smell of honeysuckle welcomed me as soon as I walked outside. It truly is like a little paradise!

The El Ducado is literally 2 blocks from Larcomar, the prestigious
shopping centre overlooking the ocean. I kind of liked being that close to the ocean as in the evening, I could feel a cool breeze - a nice respite from Lima's sweltering heat.

The staff were friendly, attentive and extremely professional!

I would absolutely stay here again.

Free Airport Transfer

El Ducado made things easy from the get go. There website was very easy to use and the free airport pick up was fantastic. The car provided was clean and was in very good condition. The driver was our first contact person in Peru and he left a very good impression!

The location of the hotel is wonderful, close to Larcomar and the cliffs as wall as Parque Kennedy. The room was not large, but it was big enough and had a mini fridge (the only one we had on the entire trip).

The staff was very helpful and curteous. The dining room was quite nice with a lovely courtyard.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone!

Great in 07!

Rooms were a little small, but more than adequate. A driver picked us up from the airport. We were in a GREAT part of town, we were within walking distance of the Larco Mar shopping centre, 2 casinos, and a sports bar which had western sports. Everyone was great, the breakfast was nice, FREE internet for residents. Front desk guy was very knowledgeable about the area and was able to hook us up with a city tour no problem.

Overall super experience!!

Good place for a day room

We stayed at El Ducado only for a day since we flew out of Lima at midnight. It was nice to have somewhere to store our luggage, relax, and take showers before heading home. The hotel is nice and in a good location. Very close to LarcoMar and the ocean. Also walking distance to Parque Kennedy and the main shopping areas of Miraflores. The room was just fine, though we didn't sleep in the bed so I can't comment on that. Overall this worked out great for us for a day room, and it seems nice enough for one or two nights stay.

Great value in Miraflores

My parents and I stayed at El Ducado in Miraflores after having previously roomed in downtown Lima. There is a huge benefit in staying in Miraflores in that you get to breathe the wonderful Pacific air, feel the coolness of the ocean breeze, and watch the lovely sunsets every evening. El Ducado is only a few blocks from the ocean cliffs and the popular shopping and dining center Larcomar. It is conveniently situated one block of Avenida Larco where you can shop and eat some tasty Peruvian dinners. You are also a few minutes away from Barranco which is a wonderful oceanside town.

El Ducado offers an excellent value for this prime location. We received a spotlessly clean room with comfortable beds. There is a tv and more importantly a small fridge to keep beverages. The price of the room includes a continental breakfast of juice, coffee and fresh rolls served next to a charming courtyard filled with native plants. There is also a computer available for internet use. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We greatly enjoyed our stay in El Ducado and in Miraflores.

an very comfortable and clean hotel

My husband and I stayed in a double suite . The decor was simple however, for the price you cannot complain. The staff were exceptionally helpful and courteous. We also found that the provision of free transfer from the airport a real bonus a it can be quite disconcerting when one arrives in a strange country, not knowing the language and at 5.30am in the mornng. Taxis do not use meters in Lima!.Overall we were very impressed with El Ducador, for its comfort, cleanliness and quality service.

Great for the price!

The staff was great, always really friendly and I even got sometimes my continental breakfast brought to my room, what a treat, of course I give them a little extra tip, cause you supposed to have breakfast in the dinning room. They also offer a laundry service, you give then your clothes and the next day you get it nice and clean and it's inexpensive, they exchange dollars, they are very helpful.
Next time a go back to Peru, I for sure will stay here again. It's a great place !!
